GAME OF THE MONTH (year) Jan 2007
Planet Lander

My copy was ordered on the 16th of august 2004 as soon as I found out about it, I quickly got a mail from packrat games telling me that they had a busy week at some expo and that my game would be posted shortly, apologising for the delay. so the game turned up on the 6th of September, which could have been quicker, but wasn't too unreasonable, I remember when everything had a 28 days delivery time, and this was coming half way around the world.

So I open up the DHL delivered package, and was disappointed that the cartridge is shipped box less :(

so there's no tidy stackable box, that can take pride of place in my collection.... in years to come I will never be able to list it on eBay as "In original box"

Anyway, the rule book was nicely printed, but sadly (for my collection anyway) in the Odysey2 Style and not in a European style, but what can you expect when ordering from the states. the same with the cartridge, which obviously was a recycled o2 game case, with a very nice gloss label.

I plugged in to my 7200 that I have aside my PC for cart testing... its easier you see, no telly n all.

The Game.

Well I have always liked lander type games, and this is no exception, its very playable, Very professional, and entertaining, so far as I have seen, you only get one life, which could have been better with the standard three but why break the habbit of a consoles lifetime. The game does get a little repetitive, though with the limited memory in which there is to fit any more, it would be remarkable to find a VIDEOPAC game that wasn't. so there's no dishonour in that.

Erratum. The Cart says press 1 to start and the instructions say press 0, not that it makes a difference cos they both work the game fine.

Marks out of 10

Gameplay 8/10

Longevity 5/10

Graphics 7/10

Sound 7/10

Overall 7/10, just let down by the lack of a box
