I'm new here and don't want to be SPAMy so if this isn't appropriate please delete/move/burn as appropriate but...

I thought people here might like to know about an iPhone app I wrote. It's inspired by my first videogame system (and first videogame), the Odyssey2 game Speedway. You can check it out on my website (which includes a link to iTunes). It's my first paid application so I'm curious how it will do.

Here's the link for my website: http://iphone.xkill.net

And the iTunes link: iTunes iSpeedway

I don't have an iPhone, but the screenshots of the game on your website look very good.

Well, it's time to go buy one! The iPod Touch is down to only $199 or so... Very Happy

Thanks for the compliments. This game started out as something to re-teach myself some programming since I haven't really done anything in 15 years but I'm reasonably happy with how it came out.

Would be nice if you would also do some game programming for the real Odyssey2 console. Smile

Very cool. Does bring me back.
You should add the sounds from the game too.

Didnt it spin when it crashed on teh odyssey or am I thinking anoth game?

We really need the emulator ported to the iphone.
I am ready for my all time favorite. Pick Axe Pete on my iphone

Yes you are correct, they did use to spin, or disintegrate!

I do include the sounds, ripped right from the game itself. Did you have the mute switch on the iphone set to vibrate? The game pays attention to that...

The crash effect I have is pretty accurate - the cars didn't spin when crashed. The other game on the same cart, Spin Out, had the cars spin but Speedway only had the tire-track crash image.

Apple has some weird rules about making emulators available in the App Store. On top of that, I'm no where near good enough of a programmer to write a decent emulator. Finally, I just started working at Apple in January so I can (sadly) no longer write any apps on my own. Everything I make in regards to the iPhone belongs to Apple...
