Hmm, so I used to have something against smileys, the graphical variant. I usually turned the option to use them 'off' at forums so their ASCII counterparts would be used. But times change, the world changes, I've changed, and I can't fight it any longer, I'm using graphical smileys like there's no tomorrow, but...

While I'm typing this, I'm looking on the left left and can see 20 smileys, the last one being  and under that "View more emoticons". So I click on the link... nothing happens! The popup is blocked, as it should have been (option set to "Always block popups")

Grmz, so I let Firefox show the blocked window, and it reveals a wealth of smileys! WHOA! Never knew there were so many! Amen!

...

Question: Is it really not possible for those remaining 2 (!) smileys to be shown? Maybe instead of those two lines of text "View more" and "emoticons"? That way I could always use that green guy, he looks cool Mr. Green

I was looking into that too when some time ago, but couldn't come up with a solution.

A bit late on seeing this post, but...

With the current version of phpBB, there is no way to show more than 20 smilies at a time. There is a MOD that can arrange them, but it is not an easy one, and I myself won't try it on my own Forum.
THe only thing I did was get rid of some that never get used - like the '!' or '?' or even the 'arrow'. Plus there are two 'sad' smilies - really only need one.
