COLLECTING
Rarity in the UK 2/10 Guideline Price £3. allow
about £3 to ship to UK also and possible customs charges). although you
should find one in the UK with a little patience, around the £2.50 mark
and £1.50 postage. At this point Philips began more intensily on arcade
type conversion games, I'm not sure this was released with a cardboard
cover. Freedom fighters did benefit from a makeover from the Videopac+
series, and is one of the more readily available + titles. I happened
upon the prototype/demo pictured below, initially labelled defenders,
but seemingly changed by a past owner to reflect the release number and
title
PLAYING
Unsurprisingly
based on the very popular arcade game "defender" of the time, however
this is set in freespace and you men that you rescue float around in
square capsules, this is a fast addictive scrolling game, with plenty of
life in it, well worth a blast.
TIP:
Start off in any mode and move your
ship to any of the corners, quickly switch to hyper drive with the ship
facing the opposite side of the screen, then no pulsarships or drones
will attack from the back and since your ship is on one of the far sides
of the screen you will have more time to aim at the mines and pulsar
ships. (Steve Routolo, Cincinnati, Ohio, Odyssey
